Actually it isn't mine. I just found the pic on the internet, I don't hve the money to buy one. It's also hard to get one as I live in the Netherlands.

Re: what's the cream of ibanez

I'm seriously tempted to start a collection of RG8670's. Better start hunting for some used ones in colors other than Trans Violet and Deep Red.

Yeh, I'm thinking on the same lines, have a BX already but would love to have some of the other colours AND another bx as it's my favourite finish. It's just such a nice guitar to play. Either that or perhaphs a 8570. I'm assuming that it's the same guitar but without the tree of life inlays?

Re: what's the cream of ibanez

RG8570 has a different neck. It's the same neck profile as my RG1880 which should be the same as your RG1680(I think that's what you got Gurj.. your blue one).

Found on e-b-a-y.

"Ibanez J Custom 7CST equipped double edge bridge with piezo system. Total production number approx. 28 worldwide!!! Made in Japan and originally was released only to the Japenese market. Serial number: F9920689"

Ouch!

It's a RG1608 bud, don't suppose you know if that's similar to the 1680/1880?

Re: what's the cream of ibanez

I believe the RG1608 and RG1680 were essentially the same guitar with a model # change(and pickup change).

The RG1608 does indeed have the same neck as the RG1880 which would in turn make it the same as the RG8570. I love the necks on all my JC's, but not everyone likes the thicker chunkier neck found on most JC's (which includes the RG1608 ). So if you don't like the neck on that you won't like the neck on the RG8570.

I don't have a problem with the 1608 neck, it's also very similar to the profile on my MRG-1. Overall I actually prefer the 8670 neck profile, just suits my hands better.
Thanks for the info bud

Re: what's the cream of ibanez

It makes sense that the neck on your RG1608 is like you MRG because according to Kurosawa-gakki that MRG of yours was basically a customized version of an RG8570. So technically I should be saying that an RG8570 is exactly like your MRG because your MRG was based off that.

The RG8670 neck is really nice and is by far my choice for the cream of Ibanez models. (you should definitely try an RG8670 with an ESP Arming Adjuster installed)

Re: what's the cream of ibanez

Yep, the neck profile was what pushed me to chose the rg8670 as the cream aswell. For me it was a very close call between the MRG and the 8670, I actually prefer the flame on the MRG. But as far as playing experience, the rg8670 shades it.

Btw, I nearly brought an arming adjuster last time I purchased some parts from Rich. Next time I do, I'll be sure to add one to my order
