Where is the bright GREEN in Ibanez's lineup?

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but does anyone know why there is such an obvious lack of green (I mean bright green, neon green, etc.) in Ibanez's solid body electric guitar lines?

Have they had green and I'm just not aware? Or is it a coincidence that Vai's Lochness Green JEM777 may be the only "green Ibanez" of significance in the last 20 years?

The only recent "hint" of green that I can recall recently has been that Mick Thomson signature model (RG shape) that appeared in Guitar World magazine a while ago, and it was not even a production model.

Does anyone know what's up with that? They've had yellow, red, blue, orange, etc. No demand for green?

I've never personally seen a green except for customs. I really want a green, I just don't even know how to start to go about the process of sanding and refinishing a body. Plus I bet its expensive. Decisions, decisions.

Just because its not the 80's doesn't mean you cant take visual taste from it.

There are 60's inspired fashion, 70's 80's and 90's recently the 40's and 50's are back in high fashion.

So really your comments make no point

and yes id like to see a green ibanez... and many more on this forum that would also.. accept for Homebake :P who happens to be on a forum of the very thing he is telling people is over !!

they had the sparkle green 570 from the mid to late 90s..nothing that stands out like neon though..except for the 550 20th's..but limited with two neon colors only.

I hardly think any of us wear spandex or have massive hair, I dont, I just like the guitars from that era.. and there are plenty of websites with the same info, but this one focuses on these types of guitars that you dont like, so dont act so surprised when people talk about it on this forum...

Maybe if we were on the old brown sunburst s h i t y dull colors forum, then i can understand your comments, but in here nope !!

Also, maybe you need Ibanezsite or RGsite, and not a site dedicated to a handled guitar whose first model was neon yellow, green, and pink, and then followed by a guitar with flowers and pink pups!! I don't wear spandex (anymore ), but my hair is still kick @ss though...

Re: Where is the bright GREEN in Ibanez's lineup?

The problem is that Ibanez doesn't like to bling up its production models enough for people to buy guitars with wack colors.

I'd buy that, lol

Actually, a recent trip to the mall reminded me that the 80's has returned in a big way. I hope it leaves soon myself but, yeah, I'd like to see green in the lineup. Not a crazy neon green, but a basic green. A candy green would be awesome!
Then again, an LNG on one of the RG3550's might be cool and wouldn't piss off LNG Jem owners.
A seafoam green would be cool too on an RG IMO. Maybe with a white pickguard and pickups?
Which brings up another question. Why no white pickguars?!? Only black, black mirror, or brushed silver pickguards seem to show up except for the Jem7 and the RG350 which have white pearl... on white guitars.

Re: Where is the bright GREEN in Ibanez's lineup?

The RTG42DXQM had a green that was close to that but probably a bit too light for people's taste.
Not a bad guitar but Ibanez discontinued it. I might try to find one on the used market.
Neck-thru fixed bridge mahogany. mmmmmmmmmmm!

LNG on a 3550 wouldn't piss anyone off -- Ibanez probably couldn't get the color right. They failed with DY on the current 3550.
