I do, this section sounds good to me. I got an 8 string bass tuned EBEADGBE so I can get away with it saying it's just an 8 string guitar tuned an octave lower!

Re: Where does one discuss bass?

Good question. I've asked a few bass questions and got no answers. Don't seem to be many bassists here.

I've got an Ibanez SR800

Re: Where does one discuss bass?

It would be great to have a bass section although i doubt there's many bassists on here. I have been playing bass before i started on guitar about 8 years ago, I'm looking for a new one at the moment as i sold my p-bass a few months ago .. still not sure exactly what i'm going to get .. either a warwick, spector or yamaha. I tried the john myung sig a few weeks ago, great bottom end and growl to die for but the neck was absolutley massive, it needs 2 truss rods

Re: Where does one discuss bass?

The Warwick Infinity is great...looks great...sounds great though I've not played one personally, but I have heard recordings. Great rumbly distortion played through Warwick amps. I know somewhere that has Warwicks, I intend to try and play one next time I'm in the area.

I have a Yamaha RBX375. It's got great looks IMO but played through my solid state Crate BT-100, it's rather 'pingy', not much bass on the high strings. Still the guitar is brilliant, nice feel to the neck. I intend to get some new strings at some point, but they are so expensive! I got get about 10 packs of guitar strings for the price of one pack of bass strings!

Re: Where does one discuss bass?

My main bass for years has been an Ibanez EDC700, I seem to be able to dial in some sweet tones. OK it's not a warrick but it feels right for me. Would like a new bass amp, been looking at some Ampegs but everythings so expensive.

Ampeg are great but i've always prefered Trace Elliot's. I've got a 7210 SMC which is 100 watt 2x12 and sounds absolutley incredible.

Re: Where does one discuss bass?

I got a Music Man Sub 5, it rules. Every bit as good as a normal MM, at half the price.
