I had a 96 USA King-V and it was definitely ballin supreme. One of the three things ever stolen from me. Oh, the fury!
I did hear they were closing the Japanese factory making the Jackson Professional line, thats why theyve been doing closeouts on all the online stores. I might add the Pro line is very very awesome, almost USA custom quality, but the maple tops aren't quite as nice. The fretwork is definitely japanese-attention-to-detail though. I always suspected they stole some Ibanez employees!
However, I don't suspect they'll close the USA custom shop. It, to me, is the only REAL big manufacturer USA custom shop around (other than Suhr). If you have the $$$, they will make ANY Jackson guitar for you. Charvel will hardly do that for you, and forget Gibson.
