Who can read Japanese? What does it mean?

Hi guys,

is there some Jemsiter who can read Japanese language (and finds this thread)? I found some pencil marks on my guitar (neck pocket and neck heel) and I really would like to understand what it means.

Have a look:

Thanks in advance! Any help is gladly appreciated.

Please don't turn this into ridicule. It was a serious question.

I hope this helps.
I couldn't understand first pic (First character is badly written ) , but I think the second pic says hammock.
If my translation of katagana is correct.

Ridicule is your lack of sense of humour and in what universe somebody could take your question as a serious matter?
Will those letters cure cancer?
aids?
cure whatever?
NOPE.
Ridicule is you saying your question is serious lol

Not everyone appreciates your making fun of their posts 6fingers. They wanted a serious answer, not a smart ass one...

Re: Who can read Japanese? What does it mean?

I'm pretty sure that's a person's sig, more than an actual word.

Katakana characters appear to be

I-ma-fu-ku (If my guessing/comparison was right).

edit:
the "ma" part is the wildest guess. The "ku" is the next wild guess. the "I" part is pretty clear.

edit again: I rather hope this was not some Japanese builder's message to his American friends

Re: Who can read Japanese? What does it mean?

Thank you very much, Ibateur. That's what I call a helpful answer!

The guitar that has these marks is Fujigen-made and from 1988. If I look up the words "Fujigen" plus "Imafuku" in Google, it gives me the name of a guitar maker Mr. 'Mick' Imafuku who now works as a product manager for Fujigen! I guess we found the answer.

Check Katakana in Wikipedia.

Re: Who can read Japanese? What does it mean?

pics of guitar in question? i would be interested to see this.... thanks

isnt it unusual to have this? i thought they were all pretty much mass produced, unless it was custom shop made or a prototype. would be interesting to see if this guitar was made on the line.....
