Who makes hardtails?

I really really want a hardtail guitar. I like the PGM but was wondering what else is out there. Aside from Fender, who else is there?

I'm talking about Fender style hardtails here, not TOMs.

Thanks.

Oh, I guess there's Carvin. I know about them too. Any others?

Re: Who makes hardtails?

I think Line-6 and Washburn have hardtails, but I'm not sure how high grade either are. (RG321 Syndrome) MusicMan has some hardtails too. The Jackson or ESP custom shop would build you a hardtail, for the right price. --Jason

Parker also has a hardtail, the P-36

Re: Who makes hardtails?

The RGA121 simply rules for hardtails.

If you want to try and assemble your own guitar, you could get a Warmoth with a couple of options of Fender style hardtail bridge.

Re: Who makes hardtails?

The RGA's are fixed bridge, not hardtails. He's talking about Gotoh GTC style bridges like what's on the PGM301. --Jason

Re: Who makes hardtails?

there's a ibanez rgt42 that's a string through hardtail too. mahogony body, neck through, with binding on the neck. i haven't played it, but it looks interesting.

i am actually having a couple of them built. rg bodies of various woods (swamp ash & paduak) that will have a natural finish. it can be fairly inexpensive if you go this route, as you are avoiding most of the expensive options.

Re: Who makes hardtails?

Hmm, I remember someone on the Vigier forum asking whether they can get a replacement neck for a Surfreter because they wanted a fixed bridge Vigier. Apparently they introduced that option recently...
