Re: why my J Custom like this ?

It could be due to the trem springs vibrating. Try putting some tissue paper in the back cavity.

Re: why my J Custom like this ?

That's funny my J also would do this mostly on the G string 7th fret D,
ring like crazy. When I put the new Lo Pro form Rich on with the looser
springs it stopped.

Re: why my J Custom like this ?

Instead of tissue paper, try cotton. Get it behind the springs, against the body, but make sure it doesn't catch between the springs to interfere with the trem action.

Re: why my J Custom like this ?

Check out that the screw nuts which fasten the tuner pins to the headstock are tightened properly. That caused very irritating resonance sound to my RGT3020. I also experienced some resonance problems because the trem arm was resonating in it's hole in the trem.

Re: why my J Custom like this ?

I had the same thing happen on my J-Custom guitar when I plugged it in but I haven't taken time to figure out why. All I know is the one note caused the same note to sound on a different string(s).

Re: why my J Custom like this ?

rather than tissue paper behind the springs to quiet them. you might try some vinyl air tubing slid inside the the spring, you know, like they sell in the pet store for aquarium set ups.

Re: why my J Custom like this ?

You solved it by closing the case - but then you can't play it

Now how did you really solve it?
