Will the floyd rose speedloader fit into a Lo-TRS II?

I know that the speedloader is designed to retrofit into in an OFR, and an OFR will fit into a Lo-TRS II.. Logic is telling me that the speedloader will fit into a Lo-TRS II.. Am I correct, or would the modifications to my guitar be so great that I would be better off with a OFR..

Thanks

You should be able to directly retrofit a Speedloader...but you'll be left with a useless headstock with tuners floating with no strings or 6 ugly holes...

I'd just go with the OFR.

Speedloader is actually the name for a new range of Floyd Rose bridges.

Ibanez has nothing to do with the Speedloader, the new Edge Pros are just easier to restring so people get them confused I guess. Both are new double locking trem systems, and it's pretty easy to jsut assume they are the same, but alas they are not.

And several of the '03 Jackson models are using Speedloaders. I saw an import jackson the other day with it. It's just creepy to have a headstock with no tuners. And the lack of tuners is really the only thing that weirds me out about it. Im just going to stick with the old stuff. You know, now that I think of it, it might have been a BC Rich, but I know Jackson is using them now as well.

Also Carvin had some Speedloader guitars at NAMM but I dont know if they're actually selling them yet. Either way, I like tuners...

One thing that attracts me to real locking trems is that if you snap a string you can reuse it if you don't have a spare hanging around. The Speedloader makes me nervous because not only can you not do that, but your chances of actually finding a store that stocks the double-ended strings, especially in Australia, are pretty slim. It's like Floyd Rose has taken the most restrictive feature of steinbergers and incorporated it in his trems.

i've tried the new speedloader... i have one... in my new bc rich nj beast.... beautiful axe, mahogony body, quilted maple top, maple neck, ebony fretboard.... hot pickups... the speedloader is just amazing... i can take all the strings off and pop em right back on, be in tune, and ready to play in under a minute(if i hurry lol)... as for it fitting into a LoTRS II spot.... i compared my old loTRS II to it, put it right up against it, and the speedloader is a tad smaller in certain spots and bigger in no spots... so it would fit in the LoTRS II cavity no prob... and i recommend it highly, its a great tremelo, my fav besides the origional edge

looks like you gotta use their strings though......
also looks like the arm has a crappy trsII screw collar as opposed to the edge slot-in.

Just gonna chime in on the thumb-screw bar. There's a huge difference between the crap one on a TRS and the one Floyd uses.

I have Schaller made thumb screw bars installed on all my Edge trems(modded), and they don't have any of the problems associated with that type of bar from a TRS.

It's all about the manufacturing.

Re: Will the floyd rose speedloader fit into a Lo-TRS II?

I got a 1996 JEM 555.
Got rid of the Lo-Trs II, it sucked, always out of tune.
Got rid of replacement Lo-Trs,it sucked as well, always out of tune.
I ordered a 2003 Speedloader,hope it works.
Anyone use a Speddloader on a JEM with success
