Wizard neck fit on an SA body?

Greetings,
I'm wondering if anyone has tried putting a Wizard neck on an SA body? I'm hooked on the Wizards, but I'd like one non-Floyd S-style guitar. The SA160s use the "SAT30" trem (sort of like a Wilkinson), but I'm not crazy about the SA-necks. According to the Ibanez specs, they're the same width at the last fret (56mm), but the SA is a little thicker at the 12th fret (21.5 mm vs. 20mm). The main difference seems to be the radius: the Wizard is a lot flatter (430mm) than the SA (240mm). I checked the hole pattern for the AA-Neck Joint, and it seems to match perfectly between my S540 and the SA160, so that shouldn't be a problem. Anyone out there tried this?

See this thread:

Although not identical, it's close enough.

Cheers,
Butch

Thanks for the link Butch. I think I'm trying to do somethine less radical than putting a JEM on a JS body. As best I can tell, it should be a direct swap with no routing, shimming, or other mods necessary. I just wanted to check with the group to see if I've failed to consider something. I won't have to deal with any 22 vs 24 frets issues, no AANJ vs traditional neck joint issues, or anything else too weird. It's just that there are no regular S-series guitars without a Floyd (there should be!), and the SA neck is a way different beast than the Wizard. I believe that Andy Timmons uses something very similar to what I'm after: an SA body with a Wilkinson trem, SSH pickups, and a Wizard neck. In the Ibanez interview with him on their website, I believe they simply call it a "custom SA" or something like that. (OT: have you guys listened to Timmons? Yikes! He is amazing!)

I was told that 24 fret necks will NOT fit on a body made for 22 frets. i originally was going to buy an S-470 and put a wizard neck on it and was told it couldnt be done

Wizards can be either 22-fret or 24-fret. For example, if you look at the Ibanez web site, the S1520 or S1220 both have Wizard necks but only 22-frets. On the other hand, the RG570 also has a Wizard neck, but is 24-fret. So my plan was to put a 22-fret Wizard (from an S-series) onto the SA body (also routed for 22-frets).
