Stunning RG!! Congrats on the score. BTW, It can't be vintage because I refuse to accept the fact that I'm getting old!!

Thanks for the compliments! I wasn't sure I was going to like the Wizard neck because I've been playing thicker necks lately, but it feels really good in the hand.

Also, getting older stinks!

Is it 25 years for a guitar to be considered vintage?

i used to have one just like it and regret selling it. i have several rg550's, but i'd love to own another black one, but this time it'd have to be a mid 90's with aanj.

Re: This would be considered "vintage" now!

This all just goes to show how cutting edge Ibanez was in those times. (Recessed Floyd, H-S-H, and deeper than typical '87 superstrat cutaway). Look at what others had and Ibanez was years ahead thus this 25 year old guitar just not seeming all that old.

That's a beauty and worth the extra work to keep in top working order.

Your so right, but that's also a reason the old one's aren't really worth more $$........... they're not really any different from the new one's.....LOL

Had Ibanez made major changes and discontinued them, obviously like some of those pricey Ibanez lawsuit era electrics, then those 25 year old Ibanezes like the one pictured one first post would go for more.

They may be vintage, but while basically what appears to be the same as the new stuff, then they are just "used" guitars and not "vintage" guitars with a vintage, overpriced market. If OP keeps the guitar long enough it will go up in price.

AND That's an absolute great thing! It allows people without a crap load of money to own an awesome playing guitar for a great price!

OP that's a sweet guitar! The FP neck looks a little bit odd on the plain black body though... You should just take it off and send it to me...
