XPT707FX or RG1527

I am looking for a 7 string for rhythm work but I am perplexed by the price of these two guitars, Since there is only $100 difference am I just better off with the prestige RG1527?

I was initially looking for a hard-tail and mahogany body, which the XPT707 has, but it's Indonesian made! It also has some nice pups.

So which do you guys think is better? I already have an RGA121 which is my main general purpose guitar - the 7 string will only be for metal and only for rhythm work.

Re: XPT707FX or RG1527

The xiphos hands down. The neck feels awesome, it's got real dimarzios and is neckthough, plus, it plays better.

Don't get me wrong, the 1527 or 7620, they're not bad guitars, but I think they're fairly average and am a die hard old universe guy.

The xiphos is pretty much the first guitar I've played in years that I'd buy that isn't an old UV. Neck was awesome, felt great to play, and was just a monster rythm guitar. personally I'd have preferred a floating bridge, but having said that, i don't like TOM bridges, but did really really like the bridge on a xiphos. So, for the first time in well over a decade I find myself contemplating actually getting a guitar without a floating bridge.

Also, this thing resonates, sustaines, it is meaty, and I actually like the D-Activators in it, they work really well.

Basically, it's a killer guitar at a killer price with killer features.

thanks for the input Trees,

Does the neck ever feel "sticky" when sweating? I tend to sweat quite a bit.
