Yet another guitar ID + trem replacement thread :)

I bought this guitar from a guy who was moving overseas, mostly because it has a duncan and a dimarzio in it, and came with a HSC. He says it's an RG470, im not sure though.

It has a Lo-Trs trem, the locking nut bolted through the neck, AANJ, gotoh tuners and the serial is F9935935. Pics:

So here are my questions:
-Is this an Rg-470 as the guy said?
-The arm-holder for the bridge is screwed (the thread is stripped). Which floyd bridge would work as a direct drop-in replacement (or one which requires minimal routing)? Would I have to replace the nut too to keep the string spacing correct?

Re: Yet another guitar ID + trem replacement thread :)

Yep, probably an RG470 or 450.

You can probably remove the arm holder and put in a new Floyd Rose type. The LO-TRS is actually a reasonable trem, so maybe save your money, and just do the arm upgrade. I think I've got an old LO-TRS II arm and holder that I could always part if you cannot find one easily. Cost of postage only if you want to experiment.

If you really want to do a bridge upgrade, OFR/Schaller/Gotoh should all be good to go in the guitar. My money is on the Gotoh, as it's cheaper, and I think it's the better trem.

Thanks man, much appreciated I think I'm gonna order a new trem, I want to make this into a super shred guitar Do you think the one listed here: http://www.gpdusa.com/Gotoh_Guitar_B..._Tremolos.html would be a direct fit? (the GE1996T)

Yeah should with minimal work. Do put in the extra effort and replace the LO-TRS studs and anchors with the Gotoh ones. They are locking studs, and will offer even better tuning stability.

Sorry to draw this out even more, I just want to make sure

Is this bridge: http://www.allparts.com/Gotoh-Lockin...b-5300-010.htm the correct Gotoh to fit into my Lo-Trs route?

Thanks

There is only one Gotoh licenced Floyd Rose model, and that looks like it.
