Here's my SSS 1986? Squier E series Stratocaster. (The Squiers and MIJ Fenders were from Fujigen).

Re: You favorite SSS Strat Under 1k?

heres a strat way under 1k

A modded Squier!

Sorry I had to do it!

My cheapo American standard squier, with new 3ply black pickguard, GFS Lil Killer Pups, 13way tone combonation upgrade, Roller saddles, copper shielding, new tone nobs, tremol-no and killswitch.

Looks and plays alot better than stock, Next upgrades will be locking tuners, new tremolo(Floyd or standard made of better medal, the knife edges on this one are already shot and its less than a year old, and no ones ever touched the whammy), Possibly a tremsetter, Graphite Nut, and maybe a sleaker neck.

I'm also considering changing it into a HSS.

It originally came with a beige pickguard, pup covers and knobs.

If you knew what to do with this number "160213229012" you might find an incredible deal on a strat under 1K.

Re: You favorite SSS Strat Under 1k?

Here's my latest acquisition - I bought a Fender Jimmie Vaughan neck over at the Fender Forum and a surf green Strat body on e-bay. I added USA vintage hardware, parchment guard and aged white knobs. She's topped off with a set of Fender Hot Noiseless pickups.

My new #1 Strat, technically a Partsocaster.

You'll love the Hot Noiseless pickups in the Jeff Beck Strat. I'm kinda partial to the surf green over the vintage white.

Re: You favorite SSS Strat Under 1k?

I owned a Beck strat for about a year. They are great guitars, and i really liked the Noiseless pickups on it, although that's subjective. The neck is a bit on the thick side though- you may want to try one out first if you are considering it; and although they go for $1,300 or so new, you can usually get a used one on the bay for about a grand.
The other strat i would recommend is an american deluxe model. They are all over the bay, usually for less than a grand. I have an H-S-S model, but there are plenty of S-S-S models up for auction as well.

In fact, i just noticed a nice one for sale right here in the classifieds:
