i use a 52

sounds tighter to me, and reduces the overall tension.

the rest are a standard 10 set

I use 10-60 on my Schecter Revenger-7 (25.5-scale or 25, not sure, 24-frets, hardtail, basswood, maple, rosewood, H-H, black paint ) and 9-46 on my Squier Strat. I love the thick strings on my 7-string, but couldn't live without the 9-46s on my Squier.

I play in Standard, Drop-A, Drop-D/A, A-Standard, A#-standard, drop-G#/C# and a bunch of other tunings, I really wreak havoc on my guitars

I've been using 9-42 with a 56, elixers, but think a 58 would be about perfect, as the tension would be pretty even in the bass registers. Unfortunately, they don't make one. :-/

I'm in the process of putting a 10-56 7-string set tuned to A on my 7620. I'll let you know how it feels.

I use Elixir Strings, .010-.052 set, then a .068 for the low string. Nice and tight!

You also tune to what, Q flat?

I tried that once in standard, with those guages... I was on a big tool-influenced riffing kick. Super-tight, but the joints in my picking hand started to ache a bit (the fact i was typing hours a day working on my thesis probably didn't hurt, lol). so, i whimped out and went for lighter picks and lighter strings.

On my 2027, I use a .10-.52 set for the top six, and a 0.66 for the seventh string. I tune to Drop AD.

I was using a 0.70 for the seventh and it was nice and tight, but didn't fit through the tuning peg very well. The 0.66 is perfect.
