[HELP] FRET BUZZ

Hello Guys

I have a fixed bridge guitar with 22 frets (OLP MM1)... it has a very annoying fret buzz on 3rd up to the 9th fret ( E A D strings ) I want to fix the fret buzz while having an action of 1.5mm-1.8mm... BTW it started more than a week ago when i change the saddles, replace it to a new one(same type of saddle before) and also replacing the old string.. the intonation was fine, and the only problem is the fret buzz.

Hope you guys could help me//

Re: [HELP] FRET BUZZ

Same type of strings you've been using? Lighter strings often have more buzz. D'Addario also seems to be made out of a very springy steel now and rattle more than I like.

Re: [HELP] FRET BUZZ

What gauge strings are you using? Do you have the OLP MM1-F with the Floyd, or the non-locking trem? If you have the Floyd equipped version, you may want to put some very thin shim under the locknut on the treble side to eliminate the buzz. If you have the non-locking trem, take a look at the net slots--you may need to clean the grooves a bit.
Saddle shim is another possibility.

As usual, I didn't even see that part. But yeah--I answered in a fashion that would help any other members with a similar situation.

Re: [HELP] FRET BUZZ

thnx for the answer guys... im using the same gauge (9-42 D'addario string)
I have another question... is it normal when the distance of the string on the 12th fret and the string (lower E) is about 1.5mm while on the first fret, the distance from the fret and the string is less than 1mm?

Re: [HELP] FRET BUZZ

Yes--the string height increases slightly from the nut to the bridge.

Re: [HELP] FRET BUZZ

Loosen the truss rod about a 1/4 turn. Some people say that an Ibanez neck can be perfectly straight but I haven't seen one yet that doesn't need at least a little relief.
