80 millimeters between trem posts?

I just bought an old japanese strat body routed for a floyd. I got a little confused when I measured the distance between the trem posts to 80 mm, the normal distance (used by OFR, Schaller, Ibanez Edge etc) is 74.3 mm.
I know the old jap strats had Kahler Spyders, does anyone know if they used 80 mm or if this body was mounted with some other wierd trem?
