Back Stop-ish, Tremsetter-like Mod Idea (Rich?)
I'm toying with the idea of cutting up a guitar . The mod idea is: I would route a mirror image spring cavity in the back of the guitar body, on the other side of the block. Then install a claw and one or two springs which would be pulling the trem block the opposite way of the main 3 normal trem springs. of course it would probably take awhile to get the balance of the strings and springs all equalized. The reason i'm thinking of doing this is because I don't like Tremsetters and it seems to me - though I don't know because I haven't tried one - that the Back stop would have no effect on keeping double stop bends in tune. Because it only touches the block when the trem is at rest or being pulled up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that. But I wonder what anyone thinks of my idea, if it would hold double stop bends and allow quicker tuning up? while still allowing pullup.
