I'm also thinking about a sustaniac, any idears where to put the battery without taking of wood?
- Or are u guys thinking doing a hole for the battery is not big of a deal?

Thanks for your answer.

Re: Battery into a JEM

If you can find a way to safely out it into the output jack cavity, I'd say put it there, or fit it snugly in with some foam or something if it's backrouted

Re: Battery into a JEM

Well i think there are only 4 options:
- put it in the output jack (need to remove some wood there to make it fit)
- put it inside the pickguard (well its rly ****ty if u have to remove the whole pickguard for a battery change, right?)
- put it at the springs on the back, and use only 2 springs instead of 3. (well i wont like this cause it changes the feeling of the trem)
- do a proper battery case, with removing alot of wood.(not sure if i like this)

any more idears?

Re: Battery into a JEM

if you regularly use a strap, just tape/cable tie/velcro the battery to that and run the wires to it.
Or get a strap with a pouch for a wireless mic, and put that battery in there.

then if you decide you dont like the sustaniac you can remove it without leaving a hole in your jem

I have one in my rg1527, installed it years ago..

also I forget the name of it but you can also get a much thinner lithium ion 9v battery that you could surface mount on the back, I was reading about them a few days ago but forgot to bookmark it.

Well it will stay in there anyway, cause i need it for sure on some studio stuff i have to do.
But still i kinda dont like the idear to drill holes in this nice guitar ;P

A guitar builder will do stuff for me anyway, but i want to check my options here.

I will go for a 4 pu setup anyway, so this brings some more little changes with it.

Dimarzio Evo - Dimarzio Evo - Duncan Hot Rail (SC) - Sustainiac (SC) Both the duncan and the sustainiac put in the point where the Dimarzio Evo sits right now. Since might not 100% fit, not sure. Didnt looked under the pickguard so far ;P

Greetings.
