??? black ice overdrive and 1Mohm pot on my jem ???

hi,

i would like to know if someone use a black ice overdrive (stewart mcdonald) on jem

i ask to stewart and they said:
The Black Ice distortion unit is designed for use with higher output pickups (8K or more). Guitars with less output will not work as well. Also, it only works with High impedance, Passive pickup designs. Active pickups such as EMG will not work.
Gives a "tweed-like" distortion effect. Does not affect overall volume. Adding a 1 meg pot generally makes a guitar brighter. The Black Ice does not require any modification to your guitar.

and 1meg ohm pot on jem.

i ask and they said:
Adding a 1 meg pot generally makes a guitar brighter, wide open.

before buying, i'd like to have differents opinion on this mod. thanks for your answers.
