Broken Body? What happened? Any advise? Please Help

today i got my used ī97 ibanez talman which i bought at ebay for about 220$.
so the first thing i did was screwing off the pickguard and saw a crack in the body which you can see on the photos (every photo about 500kb) and at the neck joint....
could you imagine what happened? is the guitar fallen down?
what should i do now? should i be afraid that the guitar would fall into pieces one day?
or isnīt it that bad so i have fun with i till the end of life? what would you do? please look at the photos and tell me what you think...

I'm no expert, but here's my two cents: the joint crack doesn't look like it's anything to be concerned about, but the other crack concerns me. Can you return it? The crack only has one way to go. Have you seen the pics of Evo's crack. It's going all the way through the body.

I'm not sure of it's value. If it were me, I'd return it. Did he tell you about the crack before hand?

neck broken, too?

iīm not quite shure if he knew about it.
i got it from a musical store and they sold it as used intrument in a very good shape and when the pickguard is screwed on you donīt see anything of the crack. i think the one who sold the guitar to the musical store dindīt tell them about it....

i have also the idea to glue the neck additionaly to the screws so it gets more stability, because i donīt think that i will ever take the neck off....

and one more thing confuses me:
in the cataloque at ibanezrules.com you can read that the ī97 talman has a one piece maple neck, but this photo shows definitely that there are at least 2 pieces.... is it possible that the neck was broken, too?

No, that's a typical neck/headstock joint. It's called a scarf joint if I'm not mistaken. No problem there.

Click on the All About Evo banner. Take a few minutes and check it out. It won't be long and you'll see the crack that is forcing (or has forced) Evo's retirement from touring. I'm sure you don't treat your guitars that way, but once those cracks start...
