Changing the trem cavity screws? - How easy/hard is this?

The screws for my trem on my UV are stripped pretty bad right now. *They're still workable, but I'm wanting to replace them. *Is it just a case of removing them or is it (most likely) a lot harder than that? *I don't want to mess it up worse, but since I'm thinking of replacing the Edge anyway, I figured I'd try and do both at the same time.

Changing the trem cavity screws?

Ekim (Mike?)
what screws do you mean, the ones which holds the springs claw on the cavity, or the two posts on which the Edge's knifes rock against?

Changing the trem cavity screws?

Yes, it's Mike. *Just the first and easiest alter-ego I came up with.

I was talking about the screws in the trem cavity that you use to alter the trem tension to counter the string tension and alter the trem angle. *Not the posts.

On second thought, I'd appreciate input on both types since, like I said, I'm likely replacing the Lo-Pro Edge 7 anyway. *It's pitted pretty bad and if I'm going to get a swirl job from Herc or ATD I might as well clean it up really nice. *Whoever had it before me screwed this axe all up. *I'm starting to think it's not worth my trouble to clean it up.

Changing the trem cavity screws?

They just screw in and out, no problem taking them out. *If they're stripped real bad, it might be tougher, but if worst comes to worst, you can grab them with pliers and turn them, or recut the cross with a dremel too so you can put your phillips head screw driver back in again. *All the screws or bolts on the guitar are just in and out, no locking grub nuts or anything (except inside the trem studs, there is a grub nut in there you have to loosen before you can lower them)don't worry about taking anything apart, the only ones you should leave if the guitar is already in good intonation, is the ones that hold the saddles tight.
