changing tremelos on VDY Jem

hi amigoes

i have a 1989 VDY jem - i have been given an original floyd rose trem

will the floyd fit straight in ? or will it require some surgery ?

Also i find that the neck ( being a wizard 1 neck) will twist if the temperature alters by more than 5-6 degrees Celsius - but with a Hex head ( to adjust truss rod) and allen keys to adjust bridge = i can make it civilized in about 90 seconds

I wonder if it is just the physics of the thin wizard 1 neck that means it will always do this ? or has someone seen/ owned a VDY witha neck that never moves ?

many thanks for your time - and any responses / emails ( [email protected]) will be greatly appreciated

adios

DON'T YOU DARE!!!

you can not do that! sell the Floyd and keep the Edge (which is way better, btw). do not do anything to such a rare and beautiful collectible item as the VDY is! DON'T DO THAT!!!

and for the neck, it's totally normal, it HAS to move, dont worry.
but please, dont do that! hands off of that babe!

Completely agreed; Don't swap that tremolo. The Ibanez is a better unit, whether it's "the real thing" or not. Not every copy is worse than the original, and an original Ibanez Edge tremolo is better than an Original Floyd Rose.

agreed 100% I own both trems in ibanez guitars and the edge equipped guitar blows the other away every time, especially in tone and tuning stability, as well as overall feel
