Chrome Edge Trems from Indonesia Sellers any good / replacing trem on Les Paul Shred

I'm in the market for an original Edge trem in chrome.

I see a bunch from sellers in Indonesia - most stating that they are from JS Premium guitars. I'm guessing this is a result of Ibanez building guitars there now. But the question is - are these legit MIJ trems or are they knock offs?

I'm looking to replace the MIK OFR on my Les Paul Shred (because the fine tuners feel like crap and the bar keeps falling out) so I'm either leaning toward an old-school Edge like I'm used to, or the Gotoh 1996T, which seems like it's practically an Edge clone with a different bar mount.

Anybody have any insight?

I'd guess they're probably fakes, and probably crap.

Why not an actual OFR? it's cheaper than an aftermarket Edge by a fair amount, and Floyd now sells a replacement push-in arm that, while I've had mine for less than a week now, so far has been absolutely awesome.

Those Edges are real deal, but procured in a shady way. Gotoh makes the Edge, and the Gotoh bridge is just as good, if not better.

Shady is when you give the guy a $10 and he tells you he'll be right back with your dime bag. Just before he takes off for the bar with your $10.

They're stolen from the supply chain, as are all the new Premium parts you see on ebay. It's not a leaky faucet, it's a dam break.

Talk to me about this floyd push-in bar.

I replaced the Korean collar bar with a new (direct from floydrose.com) old style screw-in bar. It doesn't fall out, but it's noisy as all get out when it swings.

I've been playing Edge trems since 1992. They work for me. I put up with the OFR on my Baretta because it belongs there (and because it doesn't get much play time due to its 30-year-old neck issues - what do you expect when you get a duck decoy shop to make guitar parts? )

To me, an OFR is like a blunt instrument. It gets the job done but it's sloppy and clunky. An Edge is a work of art which does the job better while feeling smooth and well oiled.

Try eBay seller guitardiscountwarehouse for Gotoh 1996T, they have them on sale (20% off) from time to time. Like LP says it is as good as Edge if not better, and for $88 plus $10 shipping when on sale, you can get more than three of them for the price of an Edge.
