Crush in back of neck with thumb

Got a 5 month old purchased new RG652. You can apply pressure at multiple points on the back of the neck and crush the wood. Has anyone ever seen this?? I'm sure it's because of the thickness of it. Any suggestions would help!

Looks like the truss rod was routed too deep, I'd definitely contact your dealer, or HUSA on warranty.

OH CRAP!!!

This is the first time I've seen THAT happen. Definitely follow Rich's advice and get that neck replaced.

This is scary to look at. I've never seen something like this before, too.

Thanks so much for the replies. I think I will take it to a Ibanez certified repair place to help with the warranty, or just contact Ibanez myself. Would one be better than the other?

Also, what is HUSA?

Hoshino USA.

What a terrible sight... I've never seen that either but thats lame. Demand a new guitar not the neck replacement so they can feel ashamed of themselves.

Where is MatiasTolkki to comment on the Japanese QC and general superiority.

Re: Crush in back of neck with thumb

Unbelievable !!!
Which year of production is that?

I hope they wont say, you sanded the neck...to a thinner shape.

I had problem with my brand new purchased Prestige 2550 with Edge Zero tremolo, and almost all my saddle screw treads fall a part.
It was a few years back. And guess what ? The problem was me!
I had to stop my rant!

Good luck!
