Custom Parts

Does anyone know if custom ibanez parts are sold or if you have to make them yourself. I am basically looking for some green colored tuning pegs. I have tracked everything else I will need down. I was thinking on just buying some black pegs and painting them the color I wanted but I feel that may not be the best way to go. Any thoughts?

Re: Custom Parts

For tuning pegs, if you paint those, it'll most likely come off either if you knock it to something or by time. If you really want the color to stick there, i'd say powder coat but it may be expensive.

But i believe Sperzel made one in Green Chrome, have a look inside the ~'bay.

Have a look here, these guys sell different colour tuners. Bought some pickups from them and they were good to deal with.

Re: Custom Parts

I know Steve Vai ran Green tuner heads on his Green Meanie, and they ARE out there, just a tad hard to find, I think. I plan on customizing a set, for my up and coming Meanie project. If you hit the tuner heads with something like Bulldog Adhesion Promoter, prior to laying down the green coat, you stand a fighting chance. This stuff even works on Chrome. I've used it to blacken out a chrome neckplate that I had.

Re: Custom Parts

Get yours powder-coated. If you got other stuff around the house you want to powder coat, then you might look into getting your own equipment. Check out They even have a video at

Re: Custom Parts

Thanks Guys. I appreciate all of your responses. I think I may look into having someone powder coat for me. Sounds like the best path to go.
