Talking Did some swirl tests, some colors blob together (pics)

Hey,
So I've been doing some swirl tests. This is my fourth dip and its starting to look good. I painted a base coat of yellow on the wood and then swirled on black, red, orange, and green.

My problem is the orange and red tend to form concentrated blobs while floating on the water, and they dont spread out when I swirl them. As a result, when the wood is dipped, these blobs put on too much paint in one spot, and it ends up dripping (you can see this in the pics). Although, there are some spots where the orange and red are really nice, but theres still a lot of blobs.

Do I need to add thinner to the red and orange before putting them in the water? Have any of you encountered this problem? Please let me know if you have any advice!!

Thanks!

Some colors have "heavier" pigments.Red and Orange are two of them.Thin them a bit more and keep testing.Which paint(s) are you using?Different brands will give different results as well.............Bill.

Wow yours looks so much better than mine did when I used testors, I couldnt get anything good out of that paint. Yea I would say just thin out the blotchy paint and see if that works. Keep us updated with pics, if you can get a good swirl out of testors like it looks like your getting towards, I might have to give it another try!
