Dimarzio installation

I just bought the Crunch Lab for my RG1570's bridge position. A little information is required. The previous V8 pickup has a pair of foams under it which the Crunch Lab do not have. Why do I need those foams under pickups? To lift the pickups upwards? Should I rip off those foams from the V8 and glue it under Crunch Lab? Or install it without foam? again, there are two little springs given with the crunch lab. What are those for?

Re: Dimarzio installation

Those are pressure pads for direct mount pickups, and yes you need to put them on the new pickups. If you don't use them you'll end up stripping the heads off the screws.
