We need a poll to find the correct answer.

Re: edge or edge pro?

Down to personal preference really. Some of the fellow jemsiters like to do the Locking Stud Mod on the Edge Pro to give it more stability and better return. The Edge Pro is also a low profile bridge compared to the Edge which has a profile similar to an Original Floyd Rose.

As I said before, in the end it all boils down to personal preference.

Re: edge or edge pro?

I still can't understand why Ibanze made the Edge Pro that feels nothing like the Lo Pro or Edge. It feels light and cheap. The Lo Pro feels much more solid. The Edge Pro trem arm has to pressed right down to the body for a full dive.

If Ibanez can produce the Lo Pro to feel similar to the original Edge, why couldn't the Edge Pro be similar to the Lo Pro? And it's a different size than the previous two bridges, so refit to the Lo Pro or Edge is not a straightforward swap.

Re: edge or edge pro?

^ cause ibanez does stupid things with regularity.

the fact it wasn't a retrofit is mind-boggling showing you how out of touch the designers and those with decision making capacity were. ...glen

Ibanez produced a much lower profile bridge that sits further down in the body. Of course you have to dive the bar further, this is a non issue. If you want a shorter throw add a neck shim and raise the bridge.

It's also the heaviest bridge they've made, but it feels light and cheap? I think you're actually talking about that Edge Zero thing, which is both light, and cheap, and not interchangeable with ANY other bridge.

Re: edge or edge pro?

I don't what it is about the Edge Pro, but it's much lighter to use than the older bridges. But some people will prefer that.

Re: edge or edge pro?

The only good thing about the Edge Zero is the arm holder. It's like a cherry on a pile of ****.

Re: edge or edge pro?

The arm holder on the EZ is the most horrible wart on a trem base ever...except for the intonation screw on the EZ.
