Edge III arm trouble

Hi all,

Just bought an RGT42DX, nice guitar with crap stock pickups which will upgrade as soon as more $$ comes in!

Having a problem with the EdgeIII trem arm - I got the gtr without an arm, and picked up a replacement from Guitar Center (part #2LE2-1B), Unfortunately this replacement arm doesn't fit into the socket. It stops when the 1st washer is halfway down the socket. No visible damage to the socket, but putting a dowel into the socket shows there's a good 1/2 inch further (or more) that the arm could have gone in.

Ibanezrules.com states that the correct replacement arm for the Edge III is a 2EL2C1B (but they're backordered now). Can anyone shed further light on the subject? Do I in fact need to use a different part #? Or are the 2LE2-1B's a universally usable arm?

Thanks,
ArtC

Re: Edge III arm trouble

The one you bought from GC with the little white washers only works on higher end Edge tremolos, Edge Pro, Edge LoPro. They tried to sell the same thing to me at GC but luckily I knew more than them. The arm for Edge Pro II/Edge III is just a black bar, no washers. It's a little skinnier than the normal Edge bar.

Thanks for the info!

Now I have to figure out where to get one from... I would think they should be easy enough to find, but that doesn't seem to be the case

I ended up special ordering from GC. Took 3-1/2 months! I believe Ibanez has a web store now and you could also try Ibanezrules.com.
