Exclamation Edge III trem block help?

I bought an Ibanez XPT700 a while ago, and I really love the trem, but i'm getting annoyed cause my band's tuning varies from C standard to E Standard, and i'm tired of only using my XPT for the E standard song, and my White RG for the C standard tunings, and My black RG (Edge II) trem for the D tunings, how can i block the trems on the edge II and III trems? I don't want to use a battery or anything like that, It's going to stay there permanently or until i can afford a Tremol-No. I have 3/4 inch Plywood in my garage but i don't know the measurements to cut it or anything.

and this is my first post so sorry if i'm in the wrong forum

Re: Edge III trem block help?

It's hard to predict the measurements. Open the trem spring cavity and you'll see the space you need to fill. There are people on youtube who block their trems with stack of pennies. You can do that just to get the measurement, then make something out of wood that is the same height and stick it in there with carpet tape. Do you want the trem to still work in dive-only mode?

A pile of old picks would do the job. Stack them to fill the space, then tighten the springs right up.

You didn't see my post about my $4 Tremolo Stopper? Check it out a bit further down the tech sub-forum. It links to my blog.

ya stupid me I didn't think to reference that recent and awesome post

yay dive-only

btw, picks held together with carpet tape is a great idea. I've always used a thin piece of fabric to contact the trem block, also, so there isn't any annoying metal 'clang' when you come back up to pitch
