edge pro saddle insert problems

the saddle inserts on my high e and b seem to have, well I guess burrs would be the best way to describe it. if the string is moved around a little by saddle they click back and forth in and out of a bump or groove or whatever.

The guitar is still under warrenty so I suppose I could get Ibanez to send me a new bridge, but thats a little drastic. Is there anything I could do myself?

smoothen the inserts with a fine-grit rounded file.

I'd go the warranty route. Once you smooth out the burr, you've gone through the plating. Over the next decade, that will encourage quicker breakdown of that area than if it were plated. They may be able to send you a saddles for a DIY. If they deny you all together, then file them.

this is the edge pro with steel saddle inserts. I dont think they're plated.

and I dont know if Ive got a file that will fit into the tiny string spaces, but Ill try.

and also talk to a guitar tech

Safe? Depends on what you use I guess, and I'm sortof at a loss on what would be the best way to attack that. I'd have the distributor replace the saddle.

I'm with Rich,Not quite sure,I would'nt sand them tho,not enough control ... If you can get the dealer to swap them for ya,or send new ones,Try and get hold of a small plastic modelling file,Yes it'll go blunt quick, but thats the idea,I tend to use block sharpener's (for sharpening chisels etc) for burr's on SS

my qualms with getting new pieces in, is that Im almost certain Ibanez will want me to send in the bad saddles in first, and that means I'll have to go more than a month without my guitar (thats not going to happen!)

Take it back to where you purchased it & have them replace the saddles. A phone call to PA will get a set of new saddles overnighted. I have been replacing a lot of cracked Edge Pro II saddles, Ibanez reacts pretty fast.
