Yes, many threads on this but I've looked at all of them and Rich's tech page and have no idea what else to try. This is on my 540PSH. Simply, pull the bar up or push it down and strings will either come up flat or sharp. Weird thing is (and I've never had this on another guitar) is pull up and some strings will come up flat when returned to level and vice versa (push down and get some sharp strings, naturally). I mean, hard flat or sharp. 1/2 step hard. Return and it'll happen again. This happened before I sent the body out for painting and the problems persists.

Strings are properly stretched. Truss rod fiddlin' did not help the problem. Posts are not the originals but not a new set either. Got used replacements when the 560 Rikk Beatty sold me showed with a busted post and I used one from this guitar while waiting for the body to return with the new paintjob. Before putting it all together again, the knife-edges seemed fine. I got nothin' left so any ideas, folks?

Hey, my wife owns my nut! Can't move it without her involved. :P

Still a little iffy. The nut was a tiny bit loose so that's fixed. Maybe I missed something the first time on the bridge itself. Any other ideas are welcome.

See if its" catching". Take a fine file to the bottom sides of the wood if it is.

You've made sure to lube the studs?

Yup. Did the Chapstick trick. Seems to be getting better now.
