Edge Zero II - changing springs

Morning all,

Is there an easy way to change the springs used on the Edge Zero II trems?

Since buying my RG6PCMLTD 2nd hand, it has never been a stable trem system. When you use the bar, it never returns to pitch. I'm not a newbie when it comes to floating trems - and my other guitars do not have this issue.

Things i've done:

Ensure the locking nut is secure.
Ensure the locking nuts are tightened correctly.
Ensure the neck screws are tight and the neck is tight to the pocket.
Replaced the trem posts.
Checked the knife edges.
Added chapstick to trem post recess.

Next is to replace the trem springs. However, these are very, very stiff and I don't want to damage them by installing the new ones incorrectly.

Is there an easy way to do it other than using pliers and pulling them until they fit over the retainers?

Also 2SUX5BA004 is the correct part?

Thanks

James

Re: Edge Zero II - changing springs

Fixed - it was the trem springs. Replaced them and now the guitar returns to pitch when using it. Not 100% perfect, but 99% - the 1% is fixed by a small flick (could be also I used the old strings, well never removed them when I changed the trem springs)

Re: Edge Zero II - changing springs

Yes I had noticed some instability with the stock springs, especially when the guitar was still brand new. I replaced them with noiseless. So you have the ZPS3Fe version right. This makes it more complicated. Cool to know you fixed it.
