Edge Zero type bridge users, finally a block upgrade!

http://www.killerguitarcomponents.co...product_id=610

Saw this on my FB feed this morning. Finally an option for those using the latest bridge models from Ibanez.

Considering the extra work to make a block shaped like this the price seems pretty fair.

Intruiging. I have wanted a heavier block for my S equipped guitars for a looooooooong time now... I think I know what I'll be treating myself to when the time comes :P

No idea, I think 7 string trems have different mounting on the baseplate. Maybe you can confirm with them by dismantling your trem and measuring the mounting holes on the baseplate, and measuring the block dimensions. Compare it with their measurements and see if they are the same as the six string model.

I hope the fit the 7 string bridges. I've been waiting for FU-Tone to do one. They say they'll have one this summer. $65 is a bit steep though.

I contacted them and while they believe it would fit the 7 string EZ, they can't guarantee it since they haven't actually attached one of these blocks to the 7 string version.

Considering the extra work to make this $65 is pretty fair. If FU-Tone make one to properly fit the bridges like this one I see them selling theirs for at least as much, probably more.

Re: Edge Zero type bridge users, finally a block upgrade!

I have 2 RG with EZ bridges...but I don't really get what is would do with this? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I don't know how to install something like this? this just replaces the existing block to add volume and sustain? Is it easy to do?

Has anone tried one of these brass block upgrades? Are they really worth it? Maybe someone can try one out and post a review...

It's easy as. Get the saddles out of the way and unscrew the existing block and put the new one on. Plenty of info out there on what these blocks to for your tone. I've reviewed a bunch on my blog, and even done an install write up too. Easy as.

The shape of this thing looks very bulky actually - they claim it'll fit a ZR, and I'm sure it will fit the baseplate, but will it fit the cavity?

It increases sustain, attack and treble.

I'm about to order another one for a 7VWH.
