fretboard cleaning

my guitar's been stored in it's case for a long time, and I took it out recently to play, afterwards my fingers smelled god AWFUL, ewww. I took the string's off and have new one's ready to put on, but I suspect I need to clean the fretboard too. I just bought some Kyser Lemon oil, will that do the trick and get rid of that nasty smell or do I need something else?

I have that same lemon oil. Whatever you do dont apply that oil to the fretboard with the strings on. The lemon oil makes the strings feel like crap. It slows me down. I heard lemon oil is bad for the fretboard, its like a catch22...

BAD for a fretboard? I'd take that guy's advice with a grain or 2 of salt. Unless you're putting way too much on, lemon oil is just fine.
