Good/bad contact cleaning sprays?

What are good and bad cleaning sprays to use on guitar switches, pots, etc.? I'm not in the US and likely won't be able to find the usual recommended types, so any idea what to look for in terms of ingredients or "specs"?

I read that some types can damage plastics (and guitar finish?), and that it's better to avoid oily ones or those that leave residue.

BTW, would you spray a switch through the front slot or from below?

Re: Good/bad contact cleaning sprays?

This stuff has always come very highly recommended from what I've read. Not cheap but top quality. Have used it myself and had great results.

May not be available where you are but you might be able to mail order some?

Re: Good/bad contact cleaning sprays?

Thanks. No easy way to get any of the DeoxITs over here.

I was hoping for generic tips on what's "good ingredients" / "bad ingredients", but I'll just start by trying a contact cleaner I have here which I tested on some plastic with no ill effects.
