Guitar Player Repair Guide (or other books?)

Hi,

I want to get a book on guitar repair. I don't want to learn how to replace fretboards, fix broken headstocks or stuff like that, but mostly things like redoing electronics, fit standard nuts and so on.

Is GPRG any good? I browsed the index at amazon.com and it seems to be what I need.

Anyone can recommend the book or maybe another?

(I know all the info is on the net...but I want a hardcopy reference book anyway)

Thanks!

hi Max,
i've got either GPRG and Hot To Make Your Electric Guitar Sound Great, both by Dan Erlewine. if you dont care about classical luthiery stuff, then get "How To Make...", cause it's got all what you need to know about electrics and setup on electric guitar. it's simply wonderful, i've learnt tons of stuff.

well, they've got pretty similar contents, but GPRG has got luthiery repairs stuff and things.

Cool advice! but does "How..." have additional things on electrics or is just GPRG without the classical stuff?

well, IIRC it's pretty much like GPRG without classical stuff. maybe there's even a little more about electrics. anyway, it's money well spent!
