H-S-H RG set up I could use some help.

Im trying to rewire an RG
I have the following:
1 volume
1 tone/ push push (push/pull)
5 way switch

My goal is when push push is down
Guitar acts normally.
1- neck HB
2-neck split/middle
3- middle
4- bridge split/middle
5- bridge HB

When You push "push push" it pops into "up" position and i want this

1- Neck Split
2-Neck Split/ Middle
3 Middle
4-Bridge Split/ Middle
5- Bridge Split

Essentially pushing my tone (push push) into up position makes my pickup selection like a strat. HSH to SSS

Is this possible if so can anyone direct me to a previous post or other resource. Thank you I would appreciate it.

500k Pot from CTS
500K Push Push Pot (no brand listed from Warmoth.com)
CRL 5 way Switch
I am Currently using Stock Pups not sure what kind its ibanez stock Inf series. I will soon be Trading at least the neck and bridge Humbuckers out for Dimarzio D activators by the end of the Month.

cool, I'll have to look some of your stuff up, but I'll come back with a diagram for 'ya.

BTW... what year and model is your guitar? It makes a difference concerning the INF's

Give him a chance, it's been a couple of days, yeesh!

It's actually pretty easy.
Standard HSH wiring (you can find that on Ibanez site, or any number of guitar sites), and you simply add ground using your push/push switch on on side of the 5-way just like positions 2 and 4 do.
I don't have time to look right now, but since I'm sure this is a common wiring you may be able to find it right here;

http://www.jemsite.com/forums/f35/an...ad-110579.html

Either look there, or wait for RTG to get you one.

Thanks Meechy, I do work weekends.

Christian, this diagram is correct except that you have to use the white wires from your pickups in place of the red on the diagram

Black on the diagram is where your red wires will go

Remember:
red on diagram- use your white wires
black on diagram- use your red wires
The grounds are the same

Re: H-S-H RG set up I could use some help.

Does that split the humbuckers in positions 2 and 4, like normal, or are the full humbucking if the push-push isn't engaged?
It doesn't look like it's shorting out the coils unless the push-push is 'pushed'.

Re: H-S-H RG set up I could use some help.

In 2 and 4 its an auto split. I was wondering if that was still possible.
2=neck inner, middle
4=bridge inner, middle

Sorry btw that was rude of me on that earlier post. I must have been frustrated that day from work. Didnt think i was the type to spew things out on the internet on impulse. Heh thank you so far.

Re: H-S-H RG set up I could use some help.

The push pull should only split the neck and bridge in the 1&5 position. Its very basic really, but im pretty new to wiring trying to get this down.

For some reason i cant post pictures on my phone but ill get on a Laptop later and post a few diagrams just for clarification.

No, your right. I forgot to draw in the jumpers.

I modified that one on the fly with a diagram I already had. I'll make a whole new diagram tomorrow after work. Sorry about that Christian..

Did it surprise you that the 'little blonde haired girl' knows something about electronics? LOL
Just teasing.
Glad we caught it, else Christian would end up going nuts trying to figure out why it didn't work the way he wanted it to.
