Hello and JEM wiring advice

Hi there,

first post here...longtime lurker. Lots of good info here but....wondering if anyone can help.

I've been on a bit of an Ibanez splurge recently and just picked up a used JEM 7VWH from 2000. Pretty dinged up but a great playing guitar. It arrived with a crackly and sputtering volume control. I decided to rewire. Oh boy: big mistake! Is there an actual clear wiring diagram that is correct? I've seen a few on here, and on the Ibanez and dimarzio website. I followed the latter to the T but ended up with the selector in neck position giving me neck and bridge at the same time. Not ideal.

Re: Hello and JEM wiring advice

I'd have suggested to squirt the contacts with contact cleaner and exercise the switch a bunch of times first.

You should find the exact wiring diagram for a Jem7VWH on this site. Ibanez.com | Wiring Diagrams
