Help with Cu tape mod

Hello all,

I tried to use search function but no luck this time.

I considered to shield my guitar cavities with Cu tape for getting minimal hizz-hum. Specially for single coil pup and I have few questions.

Is it possible to successfully mod RG570? I am not sure if separate "Faradays cages" will work, because RG has cavities from front (pups) and from back (pots).

Do I need to fill with Cu also place under tremolo back, and place with springs?

Also having worries, if I should use some kind of non conductive material under pots, because I have feeling the become conductive when sitting on the Cu tape instead of normal wood.

The tape I ordered has conductive glue on itself so there should be no need of soldering the tape?

Also if needed the solder the tape, do I have to solder each piece? or only some place like the sharp angle of cavities.

If you have another tips and tricks and hints, I welcome them.

Thanks to all

Re: Help with Cu tape mod

as far as i know there is not a lot to it,
a few tutorials on the web that seem better than anything thats easy to write.

I did a couple, didnt seem to make much difference, and there are issues with ground loops, and insulating the conductor that mean its just as easy to make it worse rather than better.

I know thats not much help, I just dont have anything sensible to say.
