Arrow Help needed for the original EDGE tremolo

Hi guys,

I want to change the tremolo of my guitar - 77FP from 1988, which comes with the original EDGE (COSMO BLACK) tremolo. According to ibanezrules.com the part number of the tremolo is 2ED1R31K. At the Ibanez website is available another tremolo with part number T43CKHV (EDGE & TOP LOK III 43MM)

Are 2ED1R31K and T43CKHV the same tremolos? If they are not, where can I order the original EDGE tremolo from?

^ THIS

But just to satisfy your hunger for information. Ibanezrules is really dependeble and has great prices. I don't really trust the Ibanez store though. It seems shabby and just look at the prices. They list the cheap Edge III for 37 bucks more than the Edge. I suppose that you also only need the tremolo unit itself, not the claw, springs, screws, and locking nut. IbanezRules offers them seperately. you just have to write a mail to him and ask. Also you could go for a Lo Pro Edge which is practically the same but more low profile(as the name indicates).

And yes, they are the same.

I'm new here, just registered to this forum and I didn't know until I noticed in his profile that ibanezrules.com is his homepage Now it seems that I aksed about two different things - T43CKHV and 2ED1R31K. TheFreak777 was very helpful to answer some of my questions regardig the tremolo and it turned out (at least for me) that the item number T43CKHV stands for the complete package (tremolo and the locking nut, cosmo black) and 2ED1R31K is the part number just for the EDGE tremolo itself.

Yep--and if you go to the Ibanez Rules parts section, Rich has all of the parts and numbers listed.

Re: Help needed for the original EDGE tremolo

You only need the 2e1xxxxk which Rich sells unless you need the nut which I assume is why the Ibanez store has a different part number as it's the bridge and nut together...

Rich is a great guy to deal with...

Re: Help needed for the original EDGE tremolo

Just got an OE from Rich (the kit, I didn't need the inserts or studs for the OE guitar but I'm going to put the locking studs on my 1550) and he actually tried to talk me out of the more expensive kit until I told him I wanted the rest of the parts for another guitar.

Stand up guy?

And then some... he won't sell you what you don't need, and he packaged and shipped my bridge the same day.

Oh, and I needed a black OE, (not cosmo) and it was on back order. He knew I needed one and let me know they were in the day he got them.

Stand up guy?

Uh.... yup.

Re: Help needed for the original EDGE tremolo

I got all my brand new gold hardware from Rich as well.....He had better prices than Ibanez.com, better service than anywhere else on the planet. and shipping so fast I think it got here BEFORE I ordered it!!!........ ok, that part might not be completely true, but I DID have my new WELL PACKAGED parts in less than 48 hours

Thanks Again Rich.....My 770 in now perfect!! (for me)
