Hipshot or no?

Bottom line is i know the ibanez one is better. It is super rare though. So i was wondering should i just leave it normal with a three spring float, or is the hipshot tremsetter worth the money? Please only give advice if you are educated in the matter. No offense

LOL. Both are sort of like walking with pebbles in your shoes. Very annoying... glen

Which is why I asked if you're trying to acomplish something specific. If you want to keep bent double stops in tune then a hipshot is great, you'll just loose flutter, if you care. If you're trying to kill flutter, ditto. If you want to change the way the guitar feels, ditto again

I am looking to get that fast chop tremolo style like joe sat. Also, looking to do some pitch raising like Vai. But overall, i just really wanna do that squel harmonic joe does.

Whatever "fast chop" is, you sure don't need any gadgets to do the rest.

Oops, lemme define. Fast chop is when there is a break in the song and he hold a note and hits the bar really fast to get that kinda fast wah sound. I think we all can agree Joe Sat is the king of wah tone.

See that is why i like Jemsite. Any other forum would have been like, "well see what you need to do is buy the hipshot AND the ibanez and compare the two with a 24 hour experiment. Yeah that is what." But nope, not jemsite. Straight up. I like that. Thanks guys. What about locking studs? I am having my tech build me a warmoth custom and it has OFR. For that style i decribed would i need locking studs? Are they a must?

Experience will help you with tuning, not gadgets.

Locking studs only come in 8m x 1.25 pitch thread as far as I know [I could be wrong], it might or might not even be feasible with the inserts he used.

I use a hipshot tremsetter on one of my other guitars. This guitar used to be my switch to drop d guitar. I only used it live, because sometimes tuning stability can be completely unpredictable especially if your playing outside in cold weather or or in humid conditions etc., this was really useful, now its relegated to backup guitar duty, as well as the fact that i have aquired enough guitars to have all my alternate tunings ready to go and have backups ready. It will completely change the feel of your guitar. I dont think I would ever use a hipshot on my main guitar, but the one i have it on has a really tight full feel to the strings. Alot higher tension since their is no give. THis is assumed tension of course. If youve got a beater that wont stay in tune it will help with stability, but otherwise a good setup as rich says is the lesser of two evils
