how to keep matte finish guitar neck clean???

hey guys, im wondering if there is something i can apply to my matte finish fingerboard in order to get the dirt and grime from setting into it. is there some sort of lacquer or something i could use to refinish it with? or of not this, at least what is something good to use to keep this thing clean.
thanks for the help

Re: how to keep matte finish guitar neck clean???

maple board? they get dirty so what? if you really feel the need start with Endust and some elbow grease. you could poly or lacquer the fretboard (after a good cleaning) but most reading would say that is absurd. nevermind it can only hurt resale, tone & perhaps it's appearance later on (if done improperly). use fast fret on the strings to keep the board cleaner & change strings more often is my advice over finishing a fretboard... glen
