How to tighten jack output?

The jack outputs on my RG2120x is really loose. Not in the usually way, like loose from the guitar body, but it doesn't hold the jack cable really well and it keeps falling out all the time.

It's the big 'barrel' type output.

Any idea on how to solve this?

Re: How to tighten jack output?

You can put a piece of paper til it gets tight or super glue. Either way itīs an easy fix.

Re: How to tighten jack output?

The spring clip inside the jack just isn't exerting enough pressure to keep the plug held firm. Just replace with a new jack, they're not expensive.

Re: How to tighten jack output?

I mean if the wood in the body isnīt enough to tighten the standard jack you have to increase the mass somehow... but Rich is probably right

Re: How to tighten jack output?

I know, but I was curious if it's an easy fix or not. Changing it is not a big thing, so I guess I'll look for a replacement. The weird thing is that both outputs is loose, not just the one for the humbuckers, but for the piezo too.

Re: How to tighten jack output?

I thought the gap was between the wood and the jack, if itīs in the jack itself... they have to be replaced ofc Itīs an easy fix nevertheless $$

Re: How to tighten jack output?

Oops, just seen there's a section for pickups and wiring, sorry if this shouldn't be here.

Hi All,

I have just bought a replacement jack for my 7v which i'm planning to replace soon.

With regard to the wiring, Is it a pretty straight forward job?
I can see 2 wires attached on the old one, but there are 3 tabs to solder to.

Is there anyway of identifying which tab is which?

Thanks
