Ibanez Headstock Decal

Anyone used Best-Decals.com?

or can you suggest a place that sells high quality Ibanez Jem decals for a headstock?

Re: Ibanez Headstock Decal

I just used them. Had a small issue with my initial order but they were very cool with quickly replacing them at no charge. I ordered stencils and am going to do the logo with an airbrush.

Re: Ibanez Headstock Decal

Take a jpg file to any local sign shop and they can make one for you any size, any color. No shipping, no waiting.

Typically I would expect a sheet to cost about 20$ with 10X logos ready to go.

Re: Ibanez Headstock Decal

The only issue I see is that the "JEM" script is too large and bold. It should be much finer, like in this picture:

The problem is that they can not cut vinyl that fine, because the script is so small it destroys itself when the cutter is making the pass so close to another cut. If you want to do fine letters you have a few options:

Waterslide
Silkscreen
Laser print on clear
(I have had success with all the above options, however the laser print is much easier/cheaper for the one off guy)

I used the laser print on ultra thin clear on the fine script on this pic, the Ibanez swoosh logo is vinyl. BTW: the laser printing can do script thinner then a hair with no problem!

Good luck

Re: Ibanez Headstock Decal

Have you found a place that will make silkscreens? I actually scanned one of my Jem headstocks at high resolution, then painstakingly recreated the entire logo as a vector graphic using the bezier tool in Photoshop. I've printed it out with a standard inkjet printer and it looks pretty much dead on. But the only way to really do anything with it would be to have a silkscreen made from it, which is incidentally the way it was originally done.

Just the jpeg with the colors filled in, not the original file

I have a guitar that had the headstock logo sanded off at some point and it was replaced by a decal. What I did was order a stencil from best-decal and I'm going to airbrush it back on there.
