Ibanez Jack Socket Wiring

Hi,

I'm just seeking some confirmation on re-wiring my jack socket on my RG2550. It's the 3-way Ibanez type.

What I'm not sure about is whether ground should be connected directly to both the 'ground' and the 'barrel'. I'm currently thinking that it doesn't really matter because the two are going to be shorted together as soon at a cable is plugged in, but I just wanted to check that I haven't mis-understood the way these sockets work...

I think I mean output jack? The socket where you plug your cable into your guitar...

Go to the pickups and wiring thread and read the sticky. Plenty of links to diagrams
Also, those are output jacks-sound from guitars go out to the amp.

Loads of useful information, thanks! (and sorry, I'm usually pretty good at reading the relevant stickies)
