Ibanez Pro Rocker replacement.

Hello!

Need some help, guys.I just bought an 1985 ibanez roadstar II rs530, and I really need to replace the bridge.

Is there any drop-in replacement bridge replacement on the market?
If not, what would you recommend me to do?I'm considering the option of using a non-locking tremolo if there is no other way. What model would require minimal modification to the guitar's body?

Really appreciate it,

Dan.

Re: Ibanez Pro Rocker replacement.

Congrats on the guitar. I have an RS525 and like it a lot, particularly the neck shape.

Unfortunately, the post spacing on the Pro Rock'r prevents drop-in replacements for pretty much all types of fulcrum trems. Major surgery required.

However it's possible to fit a Kahler without too much modding - someone made a thread about their conversion: http://www.jemsite.com/forums/f18/rs...ons-53840.html.

Looks pretty good!

Re: Ibanez Pro Rocker replacement.

can you (accurately) measure the spacing on your studs (center to center)??

I think an OE will fit on the Pro-rocker studs. If you can measure....we'll be able to know for sure.

Re: Ibanez Pro Rocker replacement.

Pro Rock'r: 82mm; Edge: 75mm. You can tell visually even that the Pro Rock'r has wider spacing in relation the ends of the bridge pu.

There's a thread somewhere where Frank Falbo mentions having converted a Pro Rock'r to a regular Floyd type, and he said 'never again'.

The advantage of the Kahler is being able to adjust string spacing as well.

Hope that helps .

Re: Ibanez Pro Rocker replacement.

What about finding replacement parts for the Pro Rock'r?

Anybody know a good source?

Re: Ibanez Pro Rocker replacement.

Sometimes they pop up on evil bay - there was a complete bridge last week, and at the moment there are some saddles.

You can also try Mr. Ibanez (www.mr-ibanez.com), who carries NOS and second hand parts.

Out of interest, the Hard Rocker is also a drop in replacement for the Pro Rock'r, though it doesn't quite cover up the edge of the route.
