Ibanez rg nut washer problem

I have recently finished refurbishing my beloved 1987 rg 550 that was rescued from a puddle in Japan (literally).
However the two bolts that hold the nut on had bathroom sealant round them when i removed them. I took all that crap off them and thought nothing of it. Now I've come to put it back together ive now found the nuts are too long to allow me to lock the strings down properly. My bodge solution is to back the bolts off so I can lock the strings down. Which sort of works (I lose tuning all the time). So is there some kind of washer the fits over the locking bolts on the back of the neck? Where can I get the parts (UK) constantly retuning my guitar is making me cry :s

Re: Ibanez rg nut washer problem

i would either try to get 2 washers for both screws and see if there would be enough clearance for the nut Or get a dremel and cut off excess of the screw that is poking up through the locking nut

Re: Ibanez rg nut washer problem

There should be a flat and compression washer under each, I keep them in stock.
