Intonation help!

I just got my UV777 today and it was not set up properly. The intonation wasn off. I've been friggin with it for the past couple hours, and am growing frustrated. Does it make a difference if the trem angle is set or not? Does this have to be set, and the strings tuned before checking the intonation? Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: Intonation help!

Intonation is gthe very last thing to do. Everything else must be setup the way the guitar is going to be played before you intonate. If you have to move the saddles a lot keep an eye on the trem angle which will change the more the saddles are moved.

Re: Intonation help!

Thanks for the reply Rich. One other thing i noticed. There were 4 springs being used for the trem. I took one out. Is this ok?

Re: Intonation help!

If you take a spring out it won't do any damage to your guitar. If you think it needs takin out take it out. Just make sure its balanced and doesnt tip to one side
