Intonation setup, okay... now what? Not really working....

Okay, so I took it upon me to setup my FP (Lo-Pro Edge) and played with the intonation. Didn't seem to be a problem, until I locked it up and the g-string (don't rich! ) doesn't seem to keep the intonation. Every other string is okay. The thing is, when I unlock the nut, the intonation is okay. I lock it up: Gone. I checked whether the screw for the saddle is tight and it is, so what could be wrong?

Plus, the neck kinda broke some time okay, with a little crack under the nut, but not too deep. You think that could cause something like that? Does it interfere with the tuning stability?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please?

It sounds to me like the angle of the nut is off a little bit and when you unlock, it's altering the string length.

The solution is to set your intonation with the nut locked.

With only a single string being effected, and that saddle is tight, I'm scratching my head. Set it a small amount out of intonation so that when you lock the nut it's right, don't know what else to suggest. But yes, the crack behind the nut "can" aid in tuning instability if the headstock is moving at all under tension. Of course it would affect all strings though.
